Bill Messinger
Volunteer Chair
In long-term recovery since 1995, Bill’s life’s work is dedicated to improving treatment outcomes for people with substance use disorders. In 1997, he discovered that pilots and doctors have very high recovery rates compared to the general population and began applying their incentive- based program principles in his work with families. Bill founded CORI ten years ago after learning that most people in the justice system have substance use disorder but lack access to treatment and have high rates of recidivism when released back to the streets. As a retired lawyer and addiction counselor, his focus is on expanding treatment courts and establishing dedicated funding for the continuum of care and chronic populations.
